Jay's Brief
Jay

Hi, I'm Jay.

You hear about AI constantly, and it's hard to tell what's real. Most people don't have a friend in tech they can text and ask, "Is this real, and does it matter to me?" Jay's Brief is that friend: one story a day, explained straight, with no hype.

What you get

One story every morning. It's the AI news most likely to change something in your week: your phone, your bills, your doctor visit, your job, your safety. Each brief explains what happened, what's actually going on, and how it touches your life. Then it tells you the catch.

A small meter at the top of each brief shows how much the story matters to you: small, medium or big. Most stories are small. When one is big, we'll say so plainly.

On Sundays you get three things you can do now that you couldn't a month ago, plus anything we got wrong that week.

How it's made

I use AI to help, and I'm upfront about it. Every morning a set of AI tools reads the news, picks the story, reads the original source, and drafts the brief. A separate AI checks every claim against that source and flags anything it can't find. If a brief fails, it doesn't go out, and I get an email to decide. Every week I check a few briefs against their sources myself.

Every fact comes from the original announcement or report, and every brief links to it, so you can check.

What we won't do
